About Jenny Deans

Jenny Deans is an award winning Jeweller based at Coburg House Art Studios in Leith, Edinburgh.

She creates elegant contemporary jewellery which has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. She has taken part in the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Fair exhibition in London and the Elements Festival of Jewellery, Silver and Gold in Edinburgh.

Her work is based on repeating elements of silver and gold wire which she uses to create sculptural pieces of jewellery with a feeling of flow and movement incorporated into each design. Her inspiration comes from repeating patterns, textures and forms found in nature and architecture.

Jenny graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2002 and then stayed in the jewellery department for another 2 years as an Artist in Residence where she continued to develop her designing and making skills while starting on her teaching career. Jenny has continued to develop both her own practice and her teaching practice since then with almost 20 years of experience.

Jenny loves teaching day and evening classes, weekend workshops, summer schools and private tuition. She has taught for Edinburgh College of Art, Edinburgh University, Leith School of Art, Central Scotland School of Jewellery and her own classes at Coburg House Art Studios. Jenny has also developed classes for corporate clients such as VisitScotland and Reel Time Events.
