Handcrafted in sterling silver, the Herringbone Studs are inspired by the twisted wire patterns found throughout ancient Egyptian jewellery. Each stud is shaped from a flat square section composed of smooth round wire and finely twisted herringbone texture, arranged in the same rhythmic pattern seen in the Herringbone Ring. The result is a compact geometric form that feels contemporary while carrying the influence of historic wirework.
Each element is shaped, assembled and soldered by hand in my Edinburgh studio. The contrast of smooth and twisted silver creates a refined surface that adds detail without overwhelming the small scale of the studs. Light, comfortable and easy to wear, they make a distinctive everyday piece and pair beautifully with other designs in the Herringbone Collection.
